My email box is FULL all the time... how about yours? Sometimes, it is nearly overwhelming with the amount of pure JUNK that lands in there.
Today though, I received my monthly email from Lena Shore, a graphic designer here in Jacksonville, Florida (www.lenashore.com), and I always look forward to reading it. Then I wondered, what makes her email so special that I WANT to read it every month?
After some careful thought, it became quite clear she gets things right that matter a great deal to me.
Lena combines great elements into her regularly published email campaign and it is an example worth modeling, dare I even say, BEST PRACTICES for small businesses (and large ones, too).
Of course, the information is USEFUL and VALUABLE to her target audience - that's just a core value of any newsletter ... it's the OTHER things that she does well that capture and hold my attention.
After calling Lena, to ask her permission to highlight her newsletter, she also provided me with some great insights as to how the newsletter HELPS her business. Lena publishes monthly, and she shared the following comments...
