Copywriting is such a vague term. It can cover anything from blog posts to web copy, sales letters to article writing, plus everything in between. The constant factor is the need for good copy. Good copy can make or break a project.
You have a small window to capture your audience and it's critical that do it in the first few sentences. This applies to all of your web copy as well as your emails.
It is wise to always have a list of copywriters at your disposal. People you can call on for different diverse projects as they come up. It's hard for a good technical writer to also be good at writing sales letters or motivational emails. Even copywriters have a niche.
Fortunately, copywriters have a portfolio of samples they can give you so you can get a feel for their style and ability. A good practice is to give them a specific topic and platform to send you some samples, especially if you don't see what you are looking for in their portfolio.
