For some reason the ability to multi-task has somehow turned in to a badge of honor for many entrepreneurs. Right up there in popularity is the "I'm working my day job, growing my business, and trying to keep up with the family - and am getting little to no sleep" syndrome.
Why these 2 things have become such a badge of honor to many I just don't know. The real badge of honor should say, "I have embraced outsourcing."
Most entrepreneurs decided to pursue a business to 1) make money and 2) change their lifestyle. Changing lifestyle usually means having the freedom to do what you want when you want to do it. If you want to go to the beach for a week, you can do it. You have the time, you are the boss, and you have enough money to be able to enjoy yourself.
Overloading yourself with tasks is a direct conflict with this desired lifestyle change. You may THINK you are doing it "just for now", until you "make enough money" to be able to outsource...but there is an inherent danger in that way of thinking. The danger is that once you train yourself to believe that "only I can do this", you really start believing it. It gets increasingly difficult to even BELIEVE that someone else can do the task, let alone do it as well as you.
So this week our focus is on outsourcing. I encourage you to listen to some of the webinars and forum posts we have as resources for you...they may just open your eyes to some new thoughts on outsourcing!
