Hello Friend,
Customers are the heart and soul of your business. Without them there just isn't a business. Building a loyal and devoted email list can really make being a business owner a rewarding experience. You know that you are giving your customers what they want and they are appreciative.
Building that loyal list is the ultimate goal, yet getting there is a question. Part of learning how to get there means knowing the current value of your list. From that point, you can start looking into what you need to do to grow the value of your list and grow the love.
But before we get into today's article, one word of caution. Recently we had a client talk to us about how his list was not responsive and how they often opted out. The problem was that he wasn't offering them the same information as to what they had signed up for.
If you are selling garden gnomes, then your emails should be about garden gnomes. You may be able to venture into gardening. But discussing lawn mowers and appropriate fertilizing schedules is not going to build rapport between you and your email list.
What you want is to offer them is a dynamite report on how they can keep their garden gnomes clean or maybe where they can get specific gnomes. Giving your list information that is above and beyond what is on your website and gives them an inside track, makes them glad they are on your list. This is part of what will grow the value of your list. But still the question remains what is the value of your list? Paul explains that further today.
