You might have a good product that you offer but plenty of other businesses are online and offer products that may be very similar. And when people visit your site, they may not be interested in buying right now, but that does not mean they are not potential customers.
Creating a list of interested and responsive people gives you a base with which to begin building a successful business. When you build trust with these people, you can consistently contact them and develop a positive response to your product offerings.
But let's start at the beginning. A common problem we see with new and even experienced marketers is the lack of an opt-in page. This is the page on your website where customers enter their email address and name in exchange for a coupon, free gift or information. Make certain you explain you will be sending them similar offerings and get their permission to continue emailing.
Then above all keep your promise, both in what you send and what you offer. Build their trust. Build their loyalty and confidence and your list will steadily grow in worth.
